Lecture “Specifications and applications of cryogenic infrastructure”
March 11th, Ronald Dekker presented a lecture about cryogenic infrastructure at the University of Twente. The lecture is part of the master study “Applied Physics” at the faculty of Science & Technology of prof. dr. ir. H.J.M. ter Brake.
The main topics of the lecture were:
- Specifications and functional requirements
- Isometric, lay-out and P&ID
- Components in transfer lines
- Conditioning equipment
- Quality Assurance
- Examples of applications
The lecture was rated by the students as good to very good and will be repeated on a yearly base.
Presentation Demaco at the ESS Partner Day
March 12th , Demaco was present at the ESS Partner Day in Delft, the Netherlands. The European Spallation Source (ESS) is one of the largest research infrastructures being built in Europe today. ESS aims to complete and operate the best and most powerful neutron source in the world by the end of the decade. Designed to generate neutron beams for science, ESS will benefit a broad range of research, from life science to engineering materials, from heritage conservation to magnetism.
Ronald Dekker presented the company Demaco, being an expert in Cryogenic Infrastructures and the way Demaco is approaching projects like ESS.
Apart from this industrial presentation, the ESS Partner Day was held for introductions of the ESS delegates like James Yeck (CEO), prof. dr. Dimitri Argyriou (Director for Science), dr. John Haines (Head of Target Division), dr. Håkan Danared (Deputy Head of Accelerator Division) and Allen Weeks (Deputy head of Project Support and Administrative Directorates). The Dutch government was represented by dr. Jeannette Ridder-Numan (OCW) and Nico Kos (NWO).
Over 100 participants were present and thanks to the ILO’s Toon Verhoeven and Rob Klöpping, the Partner Day was organized in a very professional way.
