For decades already, Demaco has been delivering cryogenic infrastructure to the renowned research institute CERN in Geneva, Switzerland.
Our certified mechanics have recently mounted vacuum insulated pipelines in the heart of the detectors ATLAS and CMS (exactly where the Higgs-particles have been found). These transfer lines are going to transport liquid supercritical CO2 to the cryostats. The goal is to be able to detect the smallest particles of matter even better. The proceedings have taken place under very special circumstances, because of the limited space and because the detectors are very sensitive and delicate instruments. After the shut down, the detectors are supposed to research the unknown together with particle accelerator LHC…It’s all about Cryogenius.
