Demaco Branch Box for GSI FAIR
Completion of the Branchbox was done in February 2025 at the Fair site.
It is the distribution station of 4K Helium to various branches of the SUPER FRS accelerator at GSI FAIR in Darmstadt (Germany).
The various branches (from which this box respectively takes its name) – that this accelerator has will lead to the various experiments in which these particles (heavy ions) are investigated.
The box is equipped with about 50 valves, a subcooler and a cooldown/warm-up circuit.
It is also equipped with numerous flow sensors and purche-panel and a safeguard which can safely discharge the helium to a return circuit in case of expansion.
The production of this box took about 10 months.
